Who Are the Brahmas?
The Brahmas are a professional American football team competing in the United Football League (UFL). Located in San Antonio, Texas, they host their home games at the Alamodome. Initially introduced as San Antonio’s XFL team in 2022, they were rebranded as the Brahmas for the 2023 season.
Brahmas Big Win
San Antonio Brahmas (8-3) secured their first XFL Conference Championship by defeating the St. Louis Battlehawks (7-4) with a 25-15 victory on Sunday, June 9th at The Dome at America’s Center, in front of 30,237 fans.
The Brahmas surged to an early 13-0 lead and withstood a second-half rally from St. Louis. San Antonio’s offense was unstoppable, amassing a season-high 410 total yards, highlighted by Anthony McFarland Jr.’s 69-yard touchdown run and a 63-yard touchdown pass from Chase Garbers to Justin Smith. Garbers threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns, his first multi-passing TD game since Week 2.
The Brahmas’ rushing attack totaled 213 yards, tying the season high for a single game. San Antonio’s defense also shone, with key plays including Teez Tabor’s fumble recovery and Tavante Beckett’s forced fumble.
The Brahmas’ lead extended to 19-3 after McFarland’s touchdown, but St. Louis responded with 12 unanswered points. Despite this, San Antonio sealed the win with two field goals from Ryan Santoso. The Brahmas now advance to the UFL Championship to face the Birmingham Stallions (10-1) on June 16 at The Dome at America’s Center, with kickoff set for 5 PM ET.
